How to Replace an audi replacement key service q5 audi key replacement cost (https://Yoursocialpeople.com/) G28 Engine Speed Sensor

In this video, Charles the Humble Mechanic shows how to replace the G28 engine speed sensor. The sensor is located on the outside of the transmission just above the flywheel gear. It sends a message to the ECU through the grey wire T55/49 and then to the tachometer located on the instrument cluster.

The grey wire is located on the outside of the transmission, directly above the flywheel ring. The sensor sends signals through the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU uses this information to regulate boost and fuel. It also sends a signal to the G5 tachometer in the instrument cluster.

The sensor is used to correlate the G40 Camshaft position Sensor. The ecu needs to know when the crankshaft has reached TDC and also the location of the camshaft in order to activate the spark and injectors.

If this sensor fails, the ECU will show a P00160 code which means the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft are out of sync and possibly indicating chain stretch or a jumped link on the upper chain of timing. However, the code won't appear on its own, without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).

Testing can be a bit difficult since there are two pins for the connector and they serve different purposes however the best way to test it is to measure the resistance between the sensor and the ECU. It should read about 1000 ohms if the sensor is at full operation. Look for signs of coolant, or oil in the connector bay if there are issues with this component.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, when i was accelerating to the fullest speed from highway paytoll i had massive power loss like the engine is out of gas or the injectors aren't firing anymore. In the morning, i removed the spark plugs, three were soaked with gazoline and the 4th one was dry. I put a piece of tissue over each injector hole and when i start the engine without sparks, the three with gazoline jump out. The 4th one remains shut. I checked the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30 and 48/55. I found 0ohm. I assume that the problem is elsewhere.

I also tried to reset PID but without success. The car will start when the G28 is disconnected, but it works fine when the G28 connected. However the intermittent misfire issue still occurs at higher RPM. The coolant temperature sensor (G62) shows the wrong temperature of -49c, even if I unplug it. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bars but the actual pressure is zero.

I'm not certain what to do, i believe that i've completely ruled out all other possibilities. I'm worried that i might have missed something. Let me know if you have any ideas! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump in the g28 is activated by a signal sent by the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is identical to the G4 sender, and both operate on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles. You can easily locate an extra in a wrecking shop or parts store. Testing them is easy by putting your DMM in resistance mode and measure between pins 1 (with the bump on the connector end up) and 2 (2nd from the left on the black connector's end). They should be infinite Ohms.

4. ECU

The ECU of our 20vt turbo (3B AAN ABY ADU) engines must be aware of the position and speed the crankshaft to make decisions regarding timing of fuel injectors, etc. It utilizes a Crank Position Sensor G4 and an Engine Speed Sensor G28 to achieve this. If either of these goes badly, you will see codes on the diagnostic scanner that could cause engine shut down.

The signs of a malfunctioning G28 sensor include an inaccurate rev counter in the gearbox and gears that shift faster than normal, and/or a misfire when you're in gear. If you have any of these issues it is most likely that your sensor is deteriorating and should be replaced. The good news is they are very cheap and easy to find particularly if you're looking at a Bosch sensor, which is what we have. Alternately, the GM version of this unit is also a great option.

5. Tachometer

A failing engine speed sensor could be the cause of many issues with your vehicle. It is an important part of the transmission of your audi advance key, as it transmits information to the ECU on how fast or slow the engine is spinning. This sensor could cause the transmission to malfunction and other components of the car to be affected.

The G5 engine speed sensor is located on the outside of the transmission, above the flywheel ring gear and sends a signal to the ECU at pin T55/49 through a grey wire. The ECU utilizes this signal to regulate fuel and boost, as well as timig. It also transmits it to the G5 Tachometer inside the instrument cluster. You can check the sensor for any failure by checking the continuity between it and the tachometer, between ECU pin T55/49 and the instrument cluster connection on pin T6a/1 (trace [79]) as well as between T6a/1, and the instrument cluster pin T26a/12. You should see an average resistance of 1000 ohms between these points. This is a common feature across the audi q7 key 80-100-200-RS2 series, starting from the 1985 MC up to the 1997 UrS An and 1995 RS2 DU So, you may find some good ones in wrecking yards.
